What Does My Label Say About Me?

We love to label others because we love to judge ourselves.

We use labels less for description and more for comparison. When we compare we judge. There are two main routes to travel in our comparing of people.

1. When we compare others to others, we hide the fact that we are really judging ourselves; we are just unable to recognize or admit that. 

2. When we compare others to ourselves, we expose the fact that we are attempting to judge ourselves as “better than” or “lesser than”; we are living arrogantly (“I’m better”) or pathetically (“I’m less”).

What labels do you have for others?
